AU Is Ranked in the List of Best Universities in the World by 2019 THE Report!---

AU is the No. 6 best private university in Taiwan according to the list, meaning that AU is already recognized globally as one of the leading universities for its good performances in school running.

The UK Times Higher Education (THE) report announces the 2019 best university ranking result on Sept. 26, and Asia University (AU) is ranked as the top 934 in the list of 801-1000. In particular, AU and China Medical University (CMU), of the “China Asia Associated University (CA2),” are ranked respectively the No. 6 and No. 1 best private universities in Taiwan according to the ranking list. Being the youngest university in Taiwan, AU is regarded accordingly as a miracle in the higher education history in Taiwan!

For the third year, AU is ranked to in the list of the top universities in the world, meaning that AU is gradually turning to be an international renowned university in the past decade. Actually, AU is a fast-growing school with international assurance in school running as evaluated by the rankings of the THE, QS, US News and World Report, etc. In this year, a total of 32 universities from Taiwan have been granted the Best University in the world in the top-1000 list. The 1000 top universities come from 86 countries with a total of 17 thousand schools participating the THE contest.

AU has good achievements in teaching, research and academic reputations as evaluated by the THE report. In addition, the dean of R&D of AU, Professor Chih-Yang Huang, mentioned that the future will be an “Age of Artificial Intelligence.” He pointed out that, facing this trend, AU has established an AI College to teach students AI-related courses. In addition, AU has signed MOUs both with the Taiwan AI School and with Microsoft to cooperate in training students as AI experts and to conduct coordinated research in the fast growing AI areas. The aims are to promote the international mobility and academic background of the faculty members and students.

Furthermore, AU and CMU cooperate in the research projects of the Internet of things (IOT), 3D printing, Internet addiction prevention and treatment, big data analysis, etc., making the involved AU students more competitive when they obtain their degrees. In fact, AU and CMU have the same founder Prof. Chang-Hai Tsai. The Board of Directors of AU and that of CMU have approved unification of the two universities to form the previously-mentioned academic alliance, “China Asia Associated University (CA2),” which fosters excellence of school running of both universities in recent years. AU President Jing-Pha Tsai pointed out that the key factors of AU to enter the ranking list are AU’s excellent performances in teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
